My love of Tai Chi began in 2000 while learning the Yang Style Long Form from a Tai Chi Master in White Bear Lake. After my teacher moved to Arizona, I found a school in Stillwater and continued to study with Dr. David Teschler to become a 3rd Degree Black Sash Instructor. The opportunities to practice Tai Chi in Stillwater are abundant, and I’ve been lucky to know several fine and talented people, like Aimee, in the community and around the metro area.
Aimee began an outdoor Tai Chi group in 2014, and I began practicing with her Saturday morning group by the St. Croix River while teaching Monday nights with another Master, teaching two weapons forms and the competition short form as well as beginners. The meditative and therapeutic style that Aimee teaches has strengthened my skills and enhanced my growth as I teach the Yang 24 Cane Posture at her studio, and of course practicing with the group every Saturday — including some pretty cold winter gatherings as we now practice all year long.
I am a horse owner and rider and a fine artist, with a focus both on Western art, painting primarily horses, and on equestrian sporting art like polo and horse racing. My work can be seen at various galleries out West and on the East Coast. I am also an avid rider and own my own sport horse, Ike.
